I'm so glad a friend gifted me this book. I picked it up soon after my mom passed after battling cancer for ~8 months. It deeply resonated with me in how I navigated my mom's health journey with her. The note-taking, organization of paperwork, attention to detail, relationship-building with medical professionals, unapologetic and courageous inquiries, glossary of common medical terms, and the emphasis on self-care were so spot on. And I learned a few more things! Highly recommend this book to anyone embarking on a caregiving journey or actively doing so. Lots of good, practical, useful advice and information.

The Color of Care is wonderfully written. It holds your attention from beginning to end and constantly pulls the reader into an informed position of care. I love the African proverbs and symbols in the book and on the cover. They are meaningful and so relevant to US.

Receiving the designation of the main caregiver can happen at any age. Most of us are woefully unprepared in how to best care for a loved one, what we do to prepare for when visiting any resources, what to ask, or how to find applicable resources. This book supplies more than tips and knowledge. It shows us that we are not alone.
